Simply a Purple Vase

                                          6x6 $90
I've almost completed my color wheel now. I've done red, yellow, blue, orange, and now, purple. Only green to go (I'm stopping after the secondary colors) I'm not sure what to do next. Black and white? Glass? Yesterday I painted a "large" canvas- 12" square! I enjoyed working a bit larger, and I'm thinking I'll do that for awhile. So many possible directions to choose from! By the way, I looked at some of Carol Marine's archive paintings, from 2006 and onward. Maybe some of you have already done this, but I found it very inspiring. She has improved immensely over the past few years. It's a real testimonial to the power of daily painting!

  3. I love the purple and yellow together. They just pop so wonderfully! Really beautiful brushwork, as always. I just found your blog, but I've had so much fun going through the archives and seeing how much you've progressed. Keep it up.

  4. Like the scale of the flat brushstrokes to the picture surfrace in this one. They give vase a monumental feeling. You might consider upping your brush sizes on those 12'ers. Good you're expanding your horizons!

  5. Those purples really zing against the yellow greens. Wonderful! I'll have to go look at some of Carol's older paintings. Thanks for the tip.
