This is a woodcarving pig- not actually a piggybank- that I picked up a few months ago. He actually has a few big black spots, but I thought, for the purposes of this painting anyway, that he would look better spotless. I love the way the ears point forward, thus creating a great shadow above his eye.
What a cutie ! beautiful work !
ReplyDeleteYes, such nice ears, love his tiny eyes too :)
I love the shadow on the ground too Layne. Great color and shape!
ReplyDeleteOh, oh, oh! I love the creaminess of the piggy! And the background is the perfect foil. Nice viewpoint, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat little painting! I like the perspective you took and the shadows and colors are perfect!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I found your blog because your paintings are not only beautiful, but inspiring too~! And I LOVE this piggy. :) Also the purple vase below. I paint with watercolors but have been wanting to try to paint with oils for a while. I'll definetly be back to see more of your work.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the paint in this one.
ReplyDeleteLove this piggy! I was curious, do you photograph your paintings in a certain way? I'm having the toughest time photographing mine without getting a horrendous glare. You colors come out so spectacular on your blog, I thought I'd ask! Thank you again for such wonderful daily paintings.
