12x12 $300 oil on canvas; add $50 for black frame
I'm enjoying painting on a bit larger format. This one is on a 3/4" canvas, and I have ordered some black floater frames for this size. This is also a first for the draped fabric. I tried to keep it really simple with just a few suggestions of the folds.
It's been 3 days since I painted and I'm really eager to get back to it. Today I had a great excuse to be out of the studio. My husband and I attended the ultrasound where we found out the sex of our first grandchild- IT'S a BOY!!!! Didn't really matter which it would be, but it's fun to know and start visualizing.
This is beautiful, I like the larger format Layne. The ceramics have such wonderful color!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your grandson, what fun!!
Oh wow! I am impressed big time if this is your first time painting the folds in the fabrics! Great job! And I too like the colors in the pottery and the arrangement you came up with. And congratulations on the grandson, how exciting for you all!
ReplyDeleteFABulous reds! Love the way they bounce around in the reflections on the darker colored mugs. I would have never guessed that this is your first time painting fabric folds.
ReplyDeleteExciting news about the Grandson!
Gros bisous
Layne, I love this piece...so much color! Great composition, the division of the background space, wonderful reflective surfaces...and I love that wee bit of turquoise on the cup and bowl.
