"Related"

This little wildflower was growing in a drainage ditch near our house. I thought it would be cool to pair it up with a vase nearly the same color, thus creating some interesting shapes against the dark background. The stainless vase holding the flower becomes one with the dark shape of the background.

I'm going to Portland for a couple days, so I won't post tomorrow, but I have one waiting for Sunday...

  1. Lots of interesting things going on in this painting. For example, I love the green reflection of the stem in the mouth of the dark vase. And there's the reflection of the flower on the lavender vase and the pink reflective light on the right side of the dark vase. Very nice!
