  1. Wow, 500 miles! Yes I agree, being in shape for it would definitely be a necessity. I wouldn't make the cut. I want to spend all my spare time standing still behind my easel... Good luck.

  3. Lovely composition, Layne. Love the reflections in all the glass, and the reflected light on the wall from the red bottle.

Your mention of your 500 mile walk reminded me of something a friend used to say. "I felt like taking a walk, so I went and laid down and that feeling went away." LOL. I think I'm in that category, though. 500 miles!

  5. Love the bright yellow and the abstract quality. Are there lots of fun stops along the way? You know.... pubs, food, music etc. Then it wouldn't seem so daunting!

  6. Hi Layne, I also took Carol's class and am finding that the daily paintings really amazingly helpful! I love your work, it looks like you are having lots of fun.

  7. I am envious of those loose strokes that all come together to make that beautiful piece. How in the world do I stop "fussing"? The one stroke, one color exercise would be a good one....... Really nice as always.

  8. Love the colors in this and how loosely you painted it! 500 mile walk. Want to hear more. I am doing the Susan G Komen 60 mile walk for breast cancer in Boston in July. I thought that was a lot of mileage. Good for you!

  10. Wow, love this color saturated painting, Layne. You work so MUCH color into your compositions, yet all of your paintings seem so unified and harmonious.
