I'm now excited about getting back to painting. I have some ideas brewing, and I think I will be doing mostly larger paintings, along with the occassional small "daily" paintings. It's good to be back in Seattle and back to blogging.
Daily small paintings- and an occasional larger one-in a quest to refine my craft and above all, enjoy the process

Pop Pop Pop of Yellow
I don't know what I did, but I messed around a bit and got the page to come up properly. Hope I can do it again . Anyway, this is the first painting I've done in about 6 weeks. It's posted on Daily Paintworks in the "Yellow" Challenge. We were down in Arizona, and LOVE the clay studio there, so I decided I would take advantage of that great facility and abandon paint for clay. That way I'll never tire of either one. Here's a pic of one of the totems I made.

Une peinture formidable et un travail exemplaire avec le couteau...
ReplyDeleteBravo!
Votre totem est superbe.
Bienvenue chez vous! et à nouveau parmi nous...
gros bisous
Nice to have you back! Your painting doesn't look like you've been away from the easel for 6 weeks. I love the colors you chose and the knife is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love your totem poles, too!!
Love the yellow accents. The knife is beautifully painted!
ReplyDeleteI love the totem! Is that in your yard? It's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYes, Virginia; the totem is in our back yard. Right now, it's a back yard with potential. This fall we plan to remove the existing concrete pavers, pour a patio and do some landscaping. That should make a huge difference and create a fitting environment for my yard art. I love yard art because it provides color and interest and never needs water! It's also fun to make....
DeleteIt's so good to see you back, Layne. Your still life paintings are my favorites, so when I saw this it felt like: Ahhhhh, Layne's back!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting. Love your colors and brushwork. Your totems are cool too.
